UPDATE: Please be aware that I am NOT completely removing any tools from this bot. The Automatic Llama Return feature will be back in a much easier and safer way. Any services mentioned below are only on-hold and will remain available after I'm done with my modifications. If you are interested, watch dADroid-bot to be notified about the updates.
For now, as stated here, please check the awesome OCLB userscript made by Kishan-Bagaria as an alternative to return llamas.
Back in 2013 when I first started this project under the name dA Buddy, I wanted to create something to help myself on the tedious tasks I had to do when visiting DeviantArt. Replying to comments, thanking my friends for favouritng my submissions, gathering some points from dAhub, etc.
Once I found it was useful for other people too, I made it online so everyone can use it. I thought I was helping people. Sadly, it looks like I'm not helping anymore.
First of all, let me thank you for all positive comments you have sent me, and for supporting my work even though there have been some difficulties along the way.
There has been some negative feedback about my work which makes valid points. That’s why from now on I plan on increasing the transparency with dADroid-bot. Expect updates when features are added and removed.
I have taken down the automatic llama return script, and deleted all login information contained with it which includes account username and passwords. I am aware of the controversy it has caused, and do not want to continue it. My first priority is to avoid putting any deviant's accounts at risk.
I suggest everyone who have ever used my services to change their passwords, to be sure that their account information is not in my system anymore.
The automatic llama return feature, automatic random llama giver, and automatic replying system has ceased to exist in 4th, March 2017. Any remaining dADroid-powered services (like the Give-LlamaGetA-Llama group, llama-list, the awesome dailygiveget with the addition of some of my friends, and any comment-based service like the journal) will remain active.
For people who were using this service, please know that you can continue to use them on the PC-app which I'm releasing in a couple of weeks, which will store account login information locally.
From now on, I'm going to ask dADroid-bot's users about ideas before I implement them. This way I can avoid future controversies. It should be also mentioned that no future tools that I make will ask for your login information.
I want to apologize for any distress I caused. dADroid will be inactive for a period of time, mainly due to me losing interest, focus and enough time to work on it.
I'd like to clarify, dADroid-bot seeks completely different goals from dAhub. I do not plan on making any point related features available to the public anymore.
I should also point out that dAhub is my friend and I value his take on my work.
I’m also planning on a full release of dADroid’s source code on GitHub, and building a graphical user-interface for it. This way, anyone can inspect the source code, build it themselves, and use it like a single PC-based app or a mobile app.
This is what my good friend Kishan-Bagaria's apps has been doing for a long time.
If you have any ideas for things you'd like @devdadroid-bot to automate for you, please leave me a comment. I’ll include it in the source code.
I would also like to know what a bot should NOT do. An example would be giving out mass amounts of favorites/watches without your active consent, as dAhub has previously stated in our conversations.
Any conversations about dA automatic activity “bots” is encouraged at: DeviousBots. Further information about bots is also available there.
